The LilacBuds portal has a number of practise tests provided by the tutors and the feedback after every paper via the portal itself was the key to my performance on the SAT. I took 11 mock tests to make sure everything goes smooth on the test day. Thank you LilacBuds for getting me the excellent SAT score.
My experience with LilacBuds, throughout my application process to global colleges was absolutely amazing. Their comprehensive SAT prep with their best faculty brought great confidence in my test approach. I strongly recommend their coaching to all high schoolers.
Students can register online for the SAT from the CollegeBoard website.
Make sure you check the test dates & registration deadlines on the website periodically. There are multiple testing centers in major metros with atleast one center in most major cities of India. Check the nearest SAT testing center to you. If slots are not available in the nearest center, check nearby options in other cities.
CollegeBoard recommends that more time spent on Official SAT Practice is associated with greater SAT scores. But how you spend your time on each prep platform really matters. Khan Academy offers you 3 ways to improve your score:
1. Follow your personalized practice recommendations. (Also there on LilacBuds portal)
2. Take a full-length practice test. (Great feature - recommended by LilacBuds)
3. Level up your skills. (Also there on LilacBuds portal)
So in summary, while you can get good practice for each topic on LilacBuds as well as Khan Academy, we do recommend students to use Khan Academy for the Full-length practice tests which are Free for the registered users.
Yes. If you finish the test and think you want to cancel your scores, you may ask the test supervisor for a "Request to Cancel Test Scores" form. You can submit the completed form immediately at the testing center, or you can think about it for a day or two before sending it to ETS Support team.
Annual surveys of college admissions counselors rank SAT scores as the third most important factor in admissions decisions, after grades and strength of curriculum (how hard your classes are).
The College Board has conducted studies that demonstrate that “using SAT scores in conjunction with high school grades is the most powerful way to predict future academic performance.” In other words, BOTH grades and SAT scores are important.
There is no standard definiton of a "Good" SAT score. It depends on the student's college goals. Colleges have a wide range of acceptable SAT scores for each preferred major. Most colleges publish information about the test scores for accepted students, giving you a “median score range”. This range offers insight into what SAT score is considered competitive at your chosen colleges.
We have observed that international students aiming for admits to the Top 50 colleges in the US usually tend to score 1400 and higher, while those aiming for the Ivy League schools would need to score 1500+ in most cases.
